1st round of campaign on Tibetan entrepreneurship development completed

DHARAMSHALA: Tibetan Entrepreneurship Development (TED), an initiative SARD under the Department of Finance, completed the first round of an entrepreneurship marketing and outreach campaign at six major Tibetan Settlements in India. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness about TED initiative, its activities and benefits for Tibetan entrepreneurs.

TED coordinators Mr. Tenzin Wangyal and Mr. Tenzin Norsang travelled to Delhi Samyeling, Bylakuppe Dickyi Larso and Lugsung Samdupling, Hunsur Rabgayling, Kollegal Dhondenling and Mundgod Doeguling Tibetan settlements as part of the current outreach campaign.

During the tour, both the coordinators explained in detail about the various types of support to be provided by TED program for developing entrepreneurship and creating entrepreneurship ecosystems in the Tibetan community. There has been question and answer session to clear the doubts of the people in each settlement.

As mentioned by TED coordinators, the overall campaign was successful as attendance at the the information sessions in each of the settlements far exceeded expectations and the interest and inquisitiveness of the audience towards entrepreneurship and new ventures were very motivating. During the session, TED team also distributed application forms to the settlement offices and provided the required information for applying and utilizing the services of TED. The last date to apply is 15 November.

One of audience member during the information session held in Delhi said,” I personally think the part of the TED program which focuses on the Tibetan students is very important for the future of our community and its sustained development.”
