Business Incubation support

The Business Incubation program is a program for the startup entrepreneurs which involves actual implementation of their business as per their business plan. The support mainly consist of mentoring during the business implementation, hand holding support & connecting with relevant experts. The support can be provided through both space incubation & virtual incubation which depends on the sector of the business. The duration of the support and the selection of space or virtual is solely depended on the needs of the business and the entrepreneurs. If the entrepreneur needs to work at the center along with the mentor, TED will provide the support through external space incubation center. Also, the overall incubation support will be provided to both the type of entrepreneurs including the applicants who do not need pre-incubation support but only incubation support and the applicants who have received pre-incubation support from TED.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible to apply for the incubation program, the entrepreneurs must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant must be a Tibetan national holding a valid and updated green book
  • Applicants must have been in business for at least 2-3 years
  • Applicants business should be legally registered
  • Applicants must have completed at least under graduate degree from any universities & colleges or any other equivalent course

 

Judging Criteria:

Applicant’s application will be assessed by a team of selection committee and the advisory board of TED based on the following criteria:

  • Business Model: The Business model of the applicant will be evaluated on the basis of:
  1. Innovativeness: The applicants business must be innovative enough to create something new or different from the existing competitors in the market
  2. Sustainability: The applicants business must be potential to sustain in future
  3. Ability to scale: The applicants business should have the ability to scale in future
  4. Financial stability: The applicants business must demonstrate how they can reach long-term financial stability /growth with rational rates of return
  5. Replicable: They applicants business must also demonstrate the potential to replicate their innovative model across regions
  6. Unique Value Proposition: The applicants business should also demonstrate how their unique value proposition serves the needs of the customer in a competitive market
  • Social Impact: Applicants should present the impact of their business to the communities and how it will create job opportunities from their business in the Tibetan communities especially in the southern Tibetan Settlements
  • Team: Applicants will also be evaluated on the basis of the strength of their leadership team and their expertise involved in their business. The application should also describe the network that the expertise has developed.
