TED FOR STUDENTS

TED’s student program is designed to nurture the next generation of Tibetan entrepreneurs. The program introduces Tibetan youth to the concepts of entrepreneurship and provides a foundation to help young Tibetans succeed in their future entrepreneurial endeavors. The program aims to generate enthusiasm and foster a spirit of entrepreneurship in young Tibetans. TED launched the Student Entrepreneurship Club in 2015 at the Upper TCV School in Dharamsala. The program will soon be introduced to other schools in Tibetan settlements across India.

Student Entrepreneurship Club Objectives

  • Introduce business concepts through case studies and interactive workshops
  • Arrange guest speakers to discuss entrepreneurship
  • Prepare students to participate in business plan competitions
  • Connect students with relevant internships
  • Incentivize student entrepreneurs through fellowships

Student Entrepreneurship Program Sends Tibetan Students to Global Scholars Program in South Africa

Tibetan Entrepreneurship Development (TED), an initiative of SARD under the Department of Finance, provided an opportunity to two Tibetan students from Upper TCV school to attend the Global Scholars Program (GSP) at African Leadership Academy (ALA) in South Africa from 25 July – 12 August 2015.
